The Joe Family Foundation for Disability Advocacy Inc.
The Joe Family Foundation for Disability Advocacy, Inc. is a trauma-informed, community-based nonprofit organization committed to advancing advocacy, equity, healing, and opportunity for individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges, traumatic experiences, and families navigating complex care and support needs.
Founded through lived experience and a deeply personal journey through disability advocacy, caregiving, and systems navigation, the foundation was created to ensure that individuals and families are not left to face life’s challenges alone. We work to bridge gaps across healthcare, education, mental health, housing, and community support systems through advocacy, education, peer support, wellness initiatives, life-skills programming, and strategic partnerships.
Our mission is to empower individuals and families by creating safe, inclusive, and healing-centered spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected to resources that improve quality of life and long-term well-being. We are especially committed to supporting historically underserved communities disproportionately impacted by disability, mental health challenges, trauma, systemic inequities, and barriers to care.
Through community engagement, caregiver support, youth and family programming, trauma-informed workshops, mental wellness initiatives, prevention-focused education, and future supportive housing and community development efforts, we strive to create pathways toward healing, stability, independence, resilience, and opportunity for all.
At The Joe Family Foundation for Disability Advocacy, Inc., we believe every individual deserves dignity, support, access, and the opportunity to thrive.
